Health

  An important part of RAAP’s Health Programme, HIV/AIDS Education and

  Prevention saves lives.

The prosperity of a community is dependent on its citizens’ health.  Every person has the right to access good health services, irrespective of status, age, gender, religion or tribe.  Inadequate health care services, high malnutrition rates, and a lack of education about reproductive health are some of the major issues we face.  RAAP seeks to enable community members to access services essential to their well-being through health education initiatives.

Our Health Programme’s main objectives are as follows:

*      Improve maternal and child health to reduce infant and maternal morbidity and        mortality.

*      Advocate and educate on the importance of access to quality health services and qualified health       personnel

*      HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention

*      Support for People Living with HIV/AIDS

*      Educate drug sellers on proper uses, handling and prescriptions of medicine and  prophylaxes .

*      Promote good nutrition practices and nutritious livelihood options.

*      Promote good sanitation and environmental practices.

Additionally, RAAP works to improve the quality of services available through training of Community Health Workers, Traditional Birth Attendants, Community Health Committees, and Peer Educators.
